Safe Deposit Vault provides the equivalent of a physical Safe Deposit Box at a Bank for your digital content. This allows you to place your important digital content, such as a Living Trust, Last Will and Testament, various Power of Attorney, HIPPA Release, Inventory of Physical Property, Financial Accounts, Passwords etc., in a place that you, your family, friends, and associates can locate should something happen to you or your home. The digital content that is placed into the Vault is encrypted to protect your privacy. In addition the content is also digitally signed by you and cryptographically time stamped by our service. This will provide a legally binding (In most locations worldwide) proof that the digital content removed from the Vault has been signed by you and is an exact copy of content you placed in the Vault, and the date and time when you signed and placed the content in the Vault.

Only you will have access to this digital content. If something happens to you, we can enable access to your previously designated recipients. Should something happen to you your recipients can provide documentation (power of attorney, death certificate) that demonstrates they are entitles to the contents, and they will be granted full access.
As a recipient (beneficiary) of a Safe Deposit Vault, you will have 3 levels of visibility of the contents of the vault. This is determined by the Owner of the Vault.
We use Cloud storage providers like Dropbox.com, Google Drive or OneDrive to physically store your digital content. The Cloud storage providers are very good at providing an offsite, reliable, and widely available storage for your digital content. Cloud data storage providers use encryption as they communicate the digital content through the Internet. However the data is not encrypted on the server and can be read or compromised there. When you share content with others using a Cloud storage provider, the recipients can read the content immediately. As a result they do not provide you the security and control of your important personal information that users of this service desire, hence the need for this app.
The Safe Deposit Vault app provides a layer of Security on top of what is provided by Cloud Storage providers. The files are Encrypted by this app before being sent to the Cloud. This is done in a manner that even individuals at the Cloud Storage Providers or Safe-Deposit-Vault.com can't read the content. The only people that will ever be able to read the digital content in your Vault, are you (via this app with your private key) and people you add as recipients to your Vault (also via this app with their own unique private key). As the owner of a Vault you get to control what (Minimal, Inventory, or Full access) and when the recipients will have access to the contents. Often Full access is deferred for your recipients until sometime in the future when something happens to you. Files can only be added or removed from the Vault via the Safe Deposit Vault app.
The default operating mode for a Vault is the Safe Deposit Mode. In this operating mode, your recipients will need two digital keys to read the content. Their personal digital key and a second digital key from Safe-Deposit-Vault.com. This second key is withheld or provided by the service to facilitate the sharing that is specified by the Vault Owner. We will only provide this second digital key (via this app) to the recipients, based on your Vault settings OR when the recipients provide legal documentation to Safe-Deposit-Vault.com that they are entitled to the Vault contents, and we verify their request with all of the other recipients of the Vault.
The Safe Deposit Vault app also allows you to solicit others to sign your digital content with their Digital Signature, also done in a legally binding manner. This can be used where a witness, or approval is required. When you request a signature, the signers do not necessarily have access to your digital content. If access to the content is restricted, they will only be signing and witnessing your signature.
The app is available for the Apple Desktop, Phone, and Tablet, Windows Phone, Desktop and Tablet, and Android Phone and Tablet.
You can create one Vault with two recipients and place 10 files in the Vault for free. You will need an annual license for additional needs. Only the owner of a Vault will need a license. Your recipients will have to register, which is free, with the service and create their digital signing certificate, which is used to obtain content at some later time..
Safe-Deposit-Vault.com also provides other operating modes for a Vault:
